Who He Is.
A naturally gifted artist with a variety of talents recognized at a very young age growing up in Dallas, Texas. While in elementary school he had his first art showcase in the hallways of Roger Q. Mills Elementary School. At Oliver Windell Holmes Jr. High School, he served as a member of the art department. Once he got to Franklin D. Roosevelt high school, he had transitioned into the Vice President of the Art Club where his talents began to blossom.
He started his continuing education career at North Texas State University (now known as University of North Texas) for Advertising. Leaving college, he took on some freelance projects and then later started working in the Title industry which caused him to put his gifted craft on hold. As he entered the corporate world of Title Insurance and Title Examination (a land and real estate orientated business) his interest started to peak in a dissimilar business industry and that was hair care.
After leaving the Title Insurance Company he and his wife opened a salon in Desoto, Texas. Shear Perfection Salon opened its doors from 1998 to 2007. During that time the salon had been recognized in many magazines both nationally and internationally. He became a National Educator, Platform Artist, and technical consultant with two major hair care companies. After the closure of the salon, he continued working as an independent contractor with over 30 years exploring business opportunities with various corporations and business ownership experience.
In 2017 he picked up his pencils and started drawing again. During Covid 19 while still working as an independent contractor the business had been shut down due to nationally mandated closures. His desire to get back to a long-lost passion of his grew stronger and his aspiration to produce artwork increased in intensity and detailed visual reproductions.
In most recent years he has been recognized for his love of animals and the focus of contrast in people as demonstrated in the upcoming collection. Inspired by the unforgiving nature of animals, they can be seen as inspiration for growth, leadership, fearlessness, independence, passion, and greatness.
His objective is to make you see color through black and white. Although he has dabbled in and with different mediums and tools of creation, he has always come back to his strongest tool of creation, the pencil. He has a fondness for creating illusions and shape from deep contrasting effects from black and white he calls “drawing from the shadows”.
His drawings are visually stimulating expressions that push the boundaries of imagination that go beyond the one dimensional. His artwork often sparks connections, conversations, and imagination. His plan for the future is to have continued recognition and gallery inclusion as well as participating in shows all of the United States and abroad.
